I finally got the last pieces for my new computer, and got it put together. I went ahead and put Vista on it, along with MS Office 2007.
Although I’ve seen a lot of criticism of both, I have to admit that I am liking them so far. Especially MS Word. I am an old WordPerfect fan, and have used Word grudgingly the last few years because it was necessary for work, but I really like the new ‘ribbon’ toolbar system (not to mention the fact that you can use a dark background).
Anyway, I was doing a bit of work and clicked on the ‘new’ button to bring up a blank document, and the options were for a text document or a blog post. So this is me testing out the latter feature, which — at least in theory — will post directly from Word to the blog.
Regardless of whether or how well this works I will hopefully begin posting somewhat regularly again, now that I have a fully functioning computer again, am over a brief bout of pneumonia, and am no longer unusually behind on work.
UPDATE:
It works! Quite well, even. Only drawback is that there does not seem to be an easy way to select the category and add tags from Word. Still, a very nice feature, even if I don’t use it.
